Lisa Carr is a full time portrait artist specializing in creative and timeless family portraits both in black and white and color mediums. We offer environmental family portraits, at home portrait sessions in the Houston area, as well as in studio portraits. Belly to Baby Studios is a full service portrait studio. Houston Newborn Photographers

Houston maternity and newborn photographer, Lisa Carr, recently photographed Henry here in the studio. When I talked with Henry’s Mom over the phone, I learned a lot about her style and her taste. We talked about her personal style, color tones and décor in her home. For Henry’s newborn session, I did photograph him in the color tones and style like what is shown in our newborn gallery on our website. I also wanted to give her a different look for a few of the newborn portraits. The black and white portrait shown here is more of an art piece for their home. I knew, based on her style, that this newborn portrait would be different and would fit in perfectly hanging on a wall in their home.

We have a full prop closet here in the studio for our Maternity & Newborn Portrait clients. Our prop closet has over 20 different backgrounds, 10 different baskets, a variety of hats, diaper covers and pants and even tutus for newborn girls. We also have over 15 different wraps for your baby. For your newborn session, all you need to bring is your baby and milk or formula. Extra diapers are always recommended. You can arrive here and just relax during your baby’s newborn session.

Belly to Baby Studios is located in the Galleria area, in a professional office building, 77057. We specialize in Maternity and Newborn photography. We recommend scheduling your baby’s session actually before your delivery date, if at all possible. In some cases, this is not always possible and we understand that. We do have Moms call us that have already had their baby, and their baby is a few weeks old. That is ok, we do not turn babies away when they are outside of the ideal 12 day old window. The important thing is to get your baby photographed when they are still tiny and a newborn. After all, the newborn phase is a short window of time. Maternity Photographer Houston, TX

Houston maternity portrait photographer, Lisa Carr, CPP, photographed this maternity portrait in the studio. Lily went to Sensia before her session so they could apply her makeup and style her hair. She felt pampered and ready for her milestone Maternity Session!

The gown she is wearing as well as the wrap in this portrait are from our Prop Closet. We have a variety of gowns to choose from for your session. You have unlimited wardrobe changes during your portrait session. All of our maternity gowns are custom designed specifically for Pregnancy Portraits, and can easily be clipped and pinned so it fits you perfectly. We have gowns that can show off your bump as well as some that are sheer and can delicately showcase your baby bump.

Houston Newborn and Family Photographer

Houston newborn and family photographer, Lisa Carr with Belly to Baby Studios, recently photographed this new family of three here in our studio. This portrait was their first family photo session together as a new family. I always tell my newborn parents that you will not have this moment back, when your baby is this small and fits so well in your arms. Enjoy the long cuddles and when your baby falls asleep on your chest. This phase of your newborn’s life will go by so quickly.

I remember the first 8 weeks after our daughter was born. I was a walking zombie and so tired. I could not even think or even imagine having portraits taken of me at all. I was exhausted and just trying to get use to a new routine and getting up every few hours to feed our daughter! Let’s just say that yoga pants, t-shirts and baseball hats were my friend during this time. Oh, and Starbucks too. Looking back, I wish I would have stopped and just taken a family portrait at this stage of our lives together. Yes, I have amazing newborn portraits of our daughter, but not one professional portrait of me with her, or our new family of three.

When my new parents come back into the studio for their newborn and family portrait order appointment, I always hear them say they are so glad they have this family portrait. They tell me how tired they were, but they look better than they thought they would. Most of all, they treasure and appreciate this documented moment in time. They have printed and framed portraits in the home, on their walls, in an album, so they can look at the images and share them with their family for years to come.
