When is the best time to schedule a newborn photography session?
We recommend scheduling your newborn session within the first 7-14 days after birth. During this period, babies are sleepier and more likely to curl up in those adorable, womb-like poses.
We understand that your schedule may not allow you to document your newborn baby before 14 days old so we do offer Houston baby portraits after 14 days of life and can discuss these options with you.
What safety measures do you have in place for my baby? He/She is a fragile newborn.
Our maternity and newborn photography studio is cleaned daily and props are washed after each use. During the newborn session there is always another set of hands to help with your baby. We take Baby Safety very seriously and have an assistant on set with the Houston newborn photographer to help with your baby. We would never attempt an unsafe pose or position for your baby.
Lisa Carr, CPP, as well as her assistant, are current on vaccines (Pertussis, Hep, Flu). We treat your baby as if it were our own.
What should I bring to a newborn photography session?
We provide all the essentials, including blankets, wraps, and props. However, you’re welcome to bring special items, such as family heirlooms or a favorite toy, for a personal touch. Be sure to bring any necessities for feeding, extra diapers, and a pacifier if your baby uses one.
How long does a newborn photography session last?
Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding, changing, and comforting breaks. We let your baby set the pace, making sure the experience is calm and comfortable for everyone involved.
