What’s the Ideal Newborn Age for Newborn Photography?

The golden window for capturing the essence of newborns spans from 7 to 12 days after birth. For those new mothers or individuals unfamiliar with the realm of professional portraiture, the rationale is simple. During this period, newborns tend to sleep more soundly, and their delicate bones and muscles are still pliable – rendering those serene poses a seamless endeavor.

Older Baby Portrait Sessions

if you miss the optimal window – there’s a silver lining! Older babies come with their own special charm. They’re all about stretching, exploring, and proudly displaying their tiny hands and feet. We understand that life can be quite the whirlwind with a newborn. That’s why we’ve kept some slots open in our schedule for those unplanned sessions that might come up after your baby has already made their debut. Your convenience matters to us!

We also believe that it is very important to have your newborn’s photographed even if they are older than the recommended time frame of 7-12 days old. We know older babies will need to be handled differently and accommodations made for extra feedings during the session. Also we love to capture awake babies during the newborn portrait session, and we allow extra time for these poses as well.

We also love to capture Family Portraits during the newborn portrait session. A professional family portrait can also be used as a holiday card or as a gift for family. And, of course, it is a wonderful way to document your family’s history.
